New York Visit - High Line Park

JUST missed the sunset!

A railroad track runs through it... taken over by nature

Yummy drink of Hendrick's, St. Germain, cuc's and lemons!
If you want to try something different on your next visit to New York, may I suggest the High Line Elevated Park? My sister, our friend and I were told by our New Yorker friend that it was a must-see at sunset, so we tried to make it and just missed the magic hour. It was still worth it, though!
It's a rambling walk through the City, along a raised pedestrian bridge, which winds through the city's buildings and along piers on the southwest end of Manhattan. After a nice walk through native plant gardens and under colorful neon-lit tunnels, you can stop into Park for a libation and some calamari or rosemary fries. (They had many yummy-looking options, so take your pick!) They have a dinner menu, but we were meeting up with our friend for dinner later, so I can't recommend anything specifically. Everything we ate was delicious, though, and the setting was amazing! In the garden area, there are many trees and plants, and canopy above is festooned with lights. Service was excellent, and the fresh focaccia they serve with a side of olive oil is delish!

What a beautiful evening! I love this neighborhood. My in-laws live in NYC but we've never visited this park. We are going to visit them in November, so I hope we have time to check it out. Your photos are so gorgeous, making the place look magical.

Oh, you should take a leisurely walk along this stretch... it's really nice! Hey, when are you going to be in NY? I'll be going to my friend Casey's art show on Nov. 18th, if you wanted to do something artsy with your family! I'll be there with my boyfriend and some friends...
