A Reason to Smile in Winter...

... winter flowers! Les fleurs d'hiver. I was flipping through some back issues of Marie Claire Idees, one of my favorite magazines, when I came across a layout of a table setting of anemones, narcissus, and a few other wintry flowers that I don't know the name for. I couldn't get the image for you, but here is my virtual bouquet to you! (Imagine them in lovely pale green vases of different shapes and sizes... and in colors of white, pale green and little bits of deep purple...)

I hope you find some prettiness in your cold winter... I know it's hard sometimes. If you get the winter blues, just remember to look for the little things... warmth in your home, a cup of steaming tea, maybe with a bit of honey, a good book, a cardinal outside in the bare branches of a tree.... this is a beautiful world we live in! There's so much joy to be had. Try not to let the cold or sadness seep in when the sun is so short-lived. And if you ever need to connect with someone, I am always here!

Thank you for the beautiful pictures and the reminder Shari - I'm afraid I do suffer terribly from the winter blues so I will try to remember these lovely things are there if we allow them to be.

I enjoy watching the birds at our bird feeders. We were recently gifted a special woodpecker feeder (they are indeed very different!) and I spied my first woodpecker the other day. Fabulous!

Flowers are the most refreshing splash of color in winter - thank you for the pick-me up!
