Inspiration During BYW Week

As I have been deeply involved in absorbing my class syllabus, I haven't done anything for this Wednesday's Reuse~Repurpose post. I apologize!

I bought some flowers yesterday to freshen up my studio, and bring natural inspiration to my work space...

A bunch of pale yellow Stock

I put them in my room last night, and this morning, my room smells amazing.... fresh and pretty! I also started painting the background for a new piece I'm working on. I haven't painted in months!! But here's the start... inspired by The Secret of Kells, an animated film that I saw this morning, as I was eating my breakfast, and it made me want to paint again. Have you ever been inspired to work because of a movie? Happens to me quite often!

Ink and watercolors on watercolor paper
The only thing is that whenever I work, my cats come around... I don't know what it is about the sound of the paint brush, or the splash of water, that make them want to get in the way, but it does! So I put a nice couple layers of felt by the window, and....

J Boo took the bait! He's still there now, hours later. Ha ha! Beckham went to the front room to lay on the sofa, since I sprayed him with water a couple times to keep him off my paper, which was still wet with paints. And he's also still there, sleeping!

My next task for myself is to get working on my Inspiration Board! I'm very excited about this and have been putting it off... just enjoying the anticipation a bit longer! (Whoever said this class has been like Christmas was right!) All my creativity is on FIRE! I'm loving every minute of it.... plus, have met some cool bloggers to boot!

Have a wonderful day, everyone! xoxo

Blessings, Shari

P.S.
Check out these movies some time, if you want some creative inspiration....

The Mirror Mask
The Secret of Kells
Practical Magic (okay, it inspired ME, but maybe not anyone else... I think because I'm in love with the house!)

I love your background Shari - it is so soft and dreamy - I don't think I've seen your art work so am excited to. Beautiful flowers, I love stocks and they do smell heavenly don't they. Your cats are so cute and funny and they have great names! Hope you get going with your inspiration board, that sounds like a fun project to work on and yes, movies totally inspire me - I will check out the movie link when I get onto a regular computer, it will be fun to see what inspires you.

Ohmigosh, I LOVE the Practical Magic house!! I think it would so fabulous to live in one just like that - lots of little nooks and crannies, and oh, oh - the greenhouse? And the spell pantry (or whatever it is where the ingredients are kept)? Swoon!

Hi Jeanne! Yay! Glad you're excited about class, too... Hope I see you in there sometime!

Brandi, awesome!! I thought it was just me! I LOVE the conservatory and that spell pantry! OOO I want to live in that house! Going to have to move to one of the islands off Washington's coast, I think...
