Defining Your Passions

So have you started any journaling? Do you feel stuck at all? Here's a question for you that might help you to get motivated: What are you passionate about? What makes you feel excitement and intense joy?

Remember when you were a kid and you had so much fun doing different things? You could be out riding your bike, or climbing a tree, or having a tea party with your friends. Or you could be out collecting seashells or playing with your dog. What are the things that you like to do that make you feel alive and happy? That's a great way to start a journal page: just defining your passions.... the things that make you zone in on something and get really involved, mentally and emotionally. Let that subject take over a page or two, so that you can really feel that excitement again!

A few of my childhood passions were: playing legos, making paper doll clothes for my paper dolls, collecting seashells and rocks, drawing, painting, tree climbing, walking down the creek at our park, playing with my dogs, riding my bike, baking, taking photos of nature and animals (although the results were usually blurry and/or cropped funny!)

Get in touch with your childhood self and explore your passions again! It's a great way to spend 5-10 minutes in your journal!
