Reuse Your Man's Shirt with Fabulous Designs!

Check this out!

I just wish I were this skinny so that I could do these awesome looking re-vamps of K's shirts. Maybe a trip to the second-hand store is in order... I can find a 3X striped men's shirt and do this, I think...

BHLDN Swoon Time

This post calls for a different font. I am in love with the aesthetic of B H L D N. Whether you are planning to get married soon, or just have a reason (or not!) to dress up, you should first visit this website. And then the store in Philly.

Here are my faves...
This clutch with the wedding gown...

Love this wedding gown...

Would this be an acceptable wedding dress?
I picked out the following accessories to go with the Indigo Mist dress above. I think it would be beautifully accented by...
this necklace

these shoes

this headband
See? It's all figured out already... of course, by the time I'm ready for anything like this again, there will probably be a whole new treasure trove of sumptuous gowns at B H L D N.... (...sigh...)

Secession - New Clothing Line Coming Out Soon!

Everyone, I have news that is very exciting to me! I hope that it will excite you, also!

My sister, Sharlene Durfey, is working with her partner, Carlos Martinez-Cervantes, to launch a brand new line of luxury t-shirts! Her background is in graphic design and fashion, as you'll know if you read my artist's blog from a few weeks ago.

Silk screen of one design

You can see her blog, 121,000,000, for more details and images of the silk screens that she took during the sample-making process. The photos are lovely, of course.

She's going to be running around a lot this year, promoting her line in Los Angeles, New York and London. Remember how I mentioned that my mom said that she wasn't creative or artistic? Obviously it didn't affect my sister at all! Yay, sis! She also got a website up specifically for her new line: Secession Obsession. Check it out!

Here are two of her favorite photos of the process...

Some of the finished samples!
I hope that you are inspired to "go confidently in the direction of YOUR dreams" to "live the life that YOU'VE imagined"... to quote the famous writer, Henry David Thoreau. After all, in what other lifetime do you plan on fulfilling your dreams?

Color Palettes Inspired by Fashion

After posting the last color palette, I received an email from a friend of mine, with a link to this wild lingerie by a company called Strumpet & Pink. I found the photos very sultry and the under garments very inventive and feminine, and decided to do ANOTHER two color palettes, as they inspired me!

Garden of Delights
Garden of Delights felt very exotic and has an oriental flavor, but with a vintage esthetic.

Midsummer Maiden
Midsummer Maiden has an ethereal, faerie-like quality, so I kept the palette to shades of pastels. I know you couldn't wear these under regular clothes, but what fun are undies that you have to wear underneath something? Impractical as these are, it makes them all the more fantastic! Plus, another of my obsessions is, you guessed it: lingerie!
